Poster Presentation – Guidelines for Abstract Submission

Eligibility

  • Open to students from any discipline in Varendra University.
  • Participants may submit individually or in teams (max 4 members).

Poster Abstract Submission Rules

  • Language: Abstracts must be written in English.
  • Word Limit: Maximum 250 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations).
  • Abstract Structure:
    Please structure your abstract as follows:
    • Title (bold, concise, max 20 words)
    • Author(s) Name(s) (underline presenting author)
    • Affiliation(s)
    • Background – Brief context or rationale
    • Objective – Purpose of the study/project
    • Methods – Short description of methods used
    • Results – Key findings (if applicable)
    • Conclusion – Summary and significance of the work
  • Font and Format:
    Font: Times New Roman
    Size: 12 pt
    Line spacing: 1.5
    File format: PDF or MS Word (.docx)
  • Categories (select one):
    • Science & Technology
    • Arts & Social Sciences
    • Business & Law
  • Submission : Send your abstract to: Microsoft CMT
  • Submission Deadline: April 10, 2025 (Tentative)
  • Notification of Acceptance:
    • Accepted abstracts will be notified by April 17, 2025.
    • Final poster guidelines and template will be provided upon acceptance.

Guideline for Poster Submission (Final)

  • Poster Size: 36 inches (W) × 48 inches (H) (portrait orientation)
  • Printed posters must be brought by the participants on the event day.
  • Presenters must be available during the judging session.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Clarity and structure of abstract
  • Relevance to category
  • Innovation and significance
  • Visual presentation (for the final poster)
  • Presenter’s explanation and response to queries

Research Idea Sharing – Guidelines

Purpose of the Event

This session encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative exploration among participants from various disciplines.

Submission Requirements

Participants must submit a Research Idea Abstract including the following:

  • Title of the Research Idea
  • Background/Problem Statement (Max 100 words)
  • Objective or Research Question
  • Proposed Approach or Methodology (Conceptual – not detailed data required)
  • Expected Outcome or Impact
  • Relevance to Interdisciplinary Fields (Mention which fields are involved)

Word Limit: Max 250 words
Format: PDF or DOCX
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing

Submission Process

  • Deadline: 04 August, 2025
  • Submit to: Microsoft CMT
  • Subject Line: Research Idea Sharing – [Your Name/Team Name]
  • Confirmation will be sent within 72 hours of submission.

Presentation Guidelines

  • Time per Idea: 5 minutes (3 mins presentation + 2 mins Q&A)
  • Mode: In-person (Slides or visual aids optional)
  • Language: English or Bengali
  • Tools Allowed: PowerPoint, Poster or Verbal Presentation
